WPF90 Isotropic Field Probe to Measure High-Frequency Broadband EMF of 5G Towers

WPF90 Probe

The rapid technological advancements in the telecommunications industry in Australia has enhanced our requirement to measure and keep electromagnetic field (EMF) frequencies within the safe limit.

If you are looking for a highly accurate EMF device to ensure your compliance with local safety standards, as well as to keep your employees and the public safe from high operating frequencies, Wavecontrol has just released its new probe, WPF90, just for this purpose.

Wavecontrol has been an industry leader for over 20 years, and is known for its innovation and development of high-precision instrumentation measurement devices designed for comprehensive assessment of human exposure to EMF.

What is a WPF90 Istotropic Field Probe?

The WPF90 GHz Isotropic Field Probe is the latest addition to the Wavecontrol product range – and was designed to capture the full EMF spectrum with its wide frequency range of 30 MHz – 90 GHz.

This probe is made for users requiring high-frequency measurements beyond 60 GHz, whilst still allowing detection down to 30 MHz. The wide measurement span makes it suitable for both established and emerging use cases across defence, automotive, R&D, and industrial sectors, to name a few. This is a great example of a development which enhances capability, whilst maintaining the core capability of previous probes.

WPF90 Probe Applications

How does a WPF90 Isotropic Field Probe Work?

The WPF90 probe is built with an isotropic sensor that provides uniform sensitivity in all directions for highly accurate detection of signals. It is also fully tested and compliant with ISO certification standards, so you know you are using equipment which is designed, tested, and fit for purpose.

Features of WPF90 Probe

  • Frequency Range:  30MHz-90 GHz

  • Equipped with an isotropic sensor

  • Electric Field Measurement

  • Attenuation: 50/60 Hz

  • ISO certified

Compatible Wavecontrol Devices

If you have existing Wavecontrol measurement devices, the WPF90 can seamlessly integrate with Wavecontrol SMP3 and SMP2 control units, Monitem Indoor Lab (Continuous monitoring system 24 X 7) and Map EM.

What is the SMP3?

The SMP3 meter is a portable device that is designed as a control unit for probes used to measure EMF, and is capable of measuring up to 90GHz from a DC (direct current) field. The SMP3 is also versatile and capable of assessing the static field, spectrum analysis, and broadband field meter in one device. It readily connects and supports a range compatible probes, such as the WPF90, without a need for additional calibration.

If you would like to learn more about how SMP3 works, you might find our previous blog helpful, or you can reach out to a member of our technical support team (sense@admtech.com.au  / 1300 236 467) to discuss the best solution for your requirements.

What is Monitem Lab?

Utilising the same underlying technology, the Monitem Lab is a permanent EMF monitoring system that provides fixed monitoring of EMF levels from indoor radiation sources (cellular antennas, RF equipment and radiators, etc.) to ensure compliance to safety standards, and to protect the wellbeing of workers, and anyone accessing areas where EMF may be a potential hazard.

Wavecontrol recommends having the calibration performance of probes certified every two years to ensure accuracy and compliance – and ADM is happy to assist with this process.

ADM is an exclusive distributor and technical support provider of Wavecontrol products in Australia. If you would like to learn about other Wavecontrol compatible devices in detail, please contact our team for assistance.
