Compare the Wavecontrol SMP2 to Australia’s Most Popular EMF Field Meter

COMPARE THE WAVECONTROL SMP2 TO AUSTRALIA’S MOST POPULAR EMF FIELD METER

Buying a different EMF meter to the one you are used to is not a decision that you take lightly.

However, when there are clear advantages to doing so with no disadvantages, why wouldn’t you make the change?

Steam engines and electric locomotives can both pull railway carriages, but the later technology makes the operation of a rail network cleaner, faster, safer, and more comfortable.

Wavecontrol’s SMP2 EMF field meter is a game changer.

The Wavecontrol SMP2 complies with the ARPANSA Radiation Protection Series S-1 (Rev. 1) standard based on ICNIRP standards and provides a more convenient solution to Australian industry sectors such as telecommunications, utilities, defence, laboratories, universities, medical and manufacturing (welding, induction, etc.).

Advantages of the Wavecontrol SMP2 EMF Field Strength Meter

The SMP2 is three instruments in one: DC, low frequency, and high frequency EMF meter. One single instrument, that can be used with many interchangeable probes. You no longer need to buy at least three different instruments for all your EMF monitoring tasks.

Broadband measurements can be taken from DC to 60GHz.

Spectrum Analysis from DC to 400kHz.

Multi-standard limits embedded in the meter.

The Weighted Peak Method (WPM) function gives you real time comparison with limits. If you need to change the limit just update the firmware. There is no need to buy a new probe.

Large, easy to read colour display with live and real time field information.

The PC software and screenshot functions make for easy reporting.

A memory capacity that can hold more than 1 mllion registers.

Isotropic field probes are available with RMS response. These come with ISO 17025 accredited calibration as standard.

Optional integrated GPS for accurate recording of the locations your readings are taken at.

Optional remote control by fibre optics.

Requirement:

Frequency Range from DC to 60GHz in only one instrument. To obtain static field measurements, spectrum analysis in low frequency (WP400 probe) and broadband measurement until 3/6/8/18/40 GHz (WPF3/6/8/18/40 probe). Eliminating the need for at least 3 separate instruments.

Requirement:

All limits in your hand. All limits integrated by Firmware: no need to change probe in case of limit update, just update the Firmware. With Wavecontrol’s competitors you may need to purchase one unit for each limit.

Requirement:

Auto-increase function. This function allows the instrument to correctly measure non-repetitive high pulses, i.e., pulses with a high level and separated in time. Those type of pulses are difficult to measure; without this function the pulse measured level is usually much lower than the actual level. A typical example is the pulses produced by welding equipment.

Requirement:

Max Fast RMS for Radar Measurements. The high frequency field probes (WPF18 and over) have a special feature called Max Fast RMS. This unique feature allows an integration time of just 4 milliseconds. The Max fast RMS is very useful for determining the radiated power of a rotating radar.
