TLD Badges and Monitoring Materials

TLD BADGES AND MONITORING MATERIALS
Product News

ADM Nuclear Technologies offers TLD badges and materials from Harshaw in a wide range of different formats to suit almost any radiation dosimetry requirements.

Thermo Fisher’s Harshaw TLD badges and materials are used right across Australia in research, clinical and industrial applications for both personnel and environmental radiation monitoring.

Harshaw TLD radiation dosimeters are available in un-mounted forms such as rods, chips, powders, micro-cubes and pelletized disks. They can also be fixed into multi-element aluminium cards, extremity dosimeters or mounted singly on a Kapton substrate, to meet your exact application needs.

Thermo Fisher’s Harshaw’s lithium fluoride based TLD materials can be used for gamma, beta and neutron monitoring. A high sensitivity, no-fade, Mg, Cu, P option for low dose or long-wear applications is also available.

Additional materials are available for extended dose range coverage.

Lithium Fluoride based TLD materials are near tissue-equivalent and provide excellent energy response. This eliminates the need for extensive mathematical computations to determine those dose, improving overall accuracy and reducing the potential for costly errors.

Another good thing about Lithium Fluoride based TLD materials is that they are not sensitive to light. This gives added flexibility in dosimeter handling and processing, resulting in improved productivity and process efficiency.

Multi-element Card Dosimeters for Personnel and Environmental Monitoring

Harshaw TLD Multi-element card dosimeters come in a variety of different configurations for either personnel, or environmental monitoring of shallow (Hp(0.07)), deep (Hp(10)) and lens of eye (Hp(3) radiation dose.

TLD materials in the form of chips or pelletized disks are encapsulated in Teflon and mounted in an aluminium card for extended durability.

Different materials are available for gamma, beta and neutron monitoring.

Each card is uniquely barcoded and available in different colours in order to aid recognition and the categorisation of issuance or wear periods.

Multiple tamper-resistant holders are offered, which contain optimised filtration for energy discrimination appropriate for each card configuration. The wearer can attach these ‘badges’ to their lapel, or belt whichever is the most appropriate.

Dose algorithms are also available for Harshaw’s most common multi-element TLD card/holder configurations, which assist in calculating the radiation dose from a TLD card readout.

Extremity Monitoring

Thermo Fisher’s Harshaw TLD extremity dosimeters are also available in a variety of materials and with a multiple filtration alternatives, enabling monitoring for gamma, beta or neutrons as needed.

Harshaw TLD extremity dosimeters can be worn on the fingers, wrists, or the head for monitoring radiation dose to the lens of eye. As well as being uniquely barcoded for chain of custody and data integrity, they can also be sterilised for maintaining hygienic conditions.

These TLD extremity dosimeters can be processed by using extremity dosimeter carrier cards together with any of the Harshaw hot gas TLD card readers (Models 4500, 6600 Plus and 8800 Plus).

Automatic card readers that are equipped with an optional integrated barcode reader, will automatically associate the TL response from the individually barcoded extremity dosimeters. This enables the management of an unbroken chain of custody and ensures complete dosimeter data tracking.
