Handheld Radiation Monitors Stocked by ADM

HANDHELD RADIATION MONITORS
Product News

ADM Nuclear Technologies is committed to providing a high level of customer service. One of our key service offerings is the ability to supply handheld radiation monitors from stock.

ADM’s range of hand-held radiation monitors includes:

  • Dosimeters
  • Survey Meters
  • Contamination Monitors

Ionising Radiation Dosimeters

ADM is a proud distributor and stockist of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s range of Electronic Personal Dosimeters, otherwise known as the EPD range.

ADM carries Thermo Fisher’s EPD TruDose in stock. Thermo EPDs have been a standard active dosimetry solution at ANSTO, research facilities and other large users. Thermo Scientific’s EPDs have proven their reliability, stability and durability over many years – both in Australia, and around the world. Models are available to monitor beta/gamma, neutron or gamma only radiation.

Thermo Fisher Scientific EPD TruDose

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s new EPD TruDose has integrated Bluetooth capability. This takes active radiation dosimetry monitoring to a new level, providing unparalleled real-time dose reading, improving the safety of staff and students.

You will be able to continually monitor a large number of staff in real time, which is something a passive system cannot do. TruDose is replaces the EPDMk2+, and we are happy to work with any existing EPD users on how to transition to the TruDose platform (which is backward compatible).

Some of the Thermo Fisher RadEye handheld radiation detectors can also be used as dosimeters.

Radiation Survey Meters and Contamination Monitors

ADM also stocks a range of the Thermo Fisher RadEye hand held survey meters and contamination monitors.

The most popular unit is the RadEye B20.

The RadEye B20 is a highly versatile, yet simple, robust and reliable radiation contamination and dose rate measurement tool. It’s perfect for characterising alpha, beta, gamma and X-ray radiation. It weighs only 300g and is rugged and compact, with a protective rubber cover. You generally get about 500 hours of operation from 2 AAA batteries, and you can use NiMH if you wish.

The RadEye B20 is an extremely versatile radiation survey meter, with operation modes such as:

Scaler/Timer with pre-set count and pre-set time, for sample measurements.

Continuous rate meter mode for frisker operation.

Dose Rate Mode

The B-20 can also be fitted with H*(10) deep or H*(7) shallow dose rate filters. The B-20 automatically recognises the selected filter and then provides accurate dose rate measurements.

Handheld Non Ionisising Radiation Monitors

ADM Nuclear Technologies is a proud distributor of Wavecontrols EMF monitors and dosimeters.

The Wavemon personal EMF monitors ensure you get the correct readings.

Wavemon incorporates isotropic sensors (3 axis), which are necessary to avoid wrong measurements be taken. EMF monitors without good isotropy show drastically different results when you rotate them in different directions. This is not very useful for employee protection applications, as worlers will be moving around the work site to carry out their tasks.

You also need to ensure you pick an EMF meter that is capable of reading the frequency range of interest. For example, above 40GHz for 5G applications. The Wavemon range of EMF meters includes models that cover this range as well as models for low frequency applications.

The Wavemon EMF meter is configurable and is capable of giving alarms from time averaged results.

Choosing the Right Handheld Radiation Monitor

It is important to select the right radiation monitor with the correct specifications for the task at hand. It is easy to end up with an excellent piece of equipment, that doesn’t suit your specific application.
